You and Me
You
may not bet the kind of person to eat a vegan diet in the month of January.
But
I am.
You
may not be the kind of person to read self-reflection books like “Things that Matter”
by Joshua Becker
But
I am.
You
may not be the kind of person who pours over lists of my intentions and energy
expenditures – prioritizing my money and schedule according to my values and beliefs
(budgets and planners are moral documents).
But
I am.
Fasting,
solitude, silence, reflection, prayer, introspection, rest…
These
are things that I do – I don’t know if I can say for “fun” but , in a way, I do
delight in them. They feed my soul.
I
choose to spend my “free” time on them.
They
help me find meaning.
I
100% understand that not all people are bult this way and that’s ok. That’s “good” (Genesis 1) even. I am not made to be silly on a stage – but I
am thankful that someone else is built that way. I really get a kick out of watching others be
vulnerable on a stage (yes, silly is a form of vulnerable… or defense… ask a grandparent.
So,
if I am gifted to be introspective and you are gifted to be silly, then we can
learn from each other can’t we?
If
we each live and move in our giftings then doesn’t that add to the richness of
our human experience?
And
we each from our own realms can remind and re-orient each other from the
overflow of our experience.
I
can remind you:
“You
need to remember what your core values are.”
And
you can remind me:
“You
don’t have to be (live) so guarded.”
And
together we can move towards a truer humanity.
There
is more!
Further UP! Further IN!
